Budesonide is a steroid. Its main uses are to relieve various types of inflammation, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); Allergic rhinitis; Nasal polyps. Crohn's disease; Ulcerative colitis.

 1Usage.

Budenofalk can be taken orally (Budenofalk), intranasally (Besonin) or topically as rectal foam (Budenofalk) and as an inhalant. When inhaled, budesonide can be inhaled using metered-dose inhalers (Vannair), nebulizers (Pulmicort respules) and Symbicort inhalers.



 1Side effects

When taken orally for a long period of time, budesonide may have side effects such as anxiety, cataracts, cognitive impairment, fat redistribution (moon face and buffalo hump), edema, gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, wound healing difficulties, hypertension, increased risk of infection, irregular menstrual cycles, and osteoporosis.


When used intranasally, budesonide may have side effects such as nasal bleeding, nasal ulcers, coughing, and nasal irritation.


When inhaled, budesonide can cause side effects such as upper respiratory tract infections, voice changes and oral thrush (yeast infection).
